Stuff…

Hey Skyring,

Sorry, I know I’m a slacker on writing. You’re not the only one I owe writing to, I haven’t written a decent long email in ages. For a while I just couldn’t think what to write, all I could think about was Becky, and my Grandma and workmate in hospital, and then I seem to have gotten really busy with a whole lot of other stuff.

I’m knitting my Mum a hat, it’s turning out really nice. I’m using this really, really nice wool (it is insanely soft) that has softly changing shades of blue, it gradually gets lighter and darker (until I had to change balls all of a sudden!), and I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I’ve told her it’ll be finished before she heads off overseas in a few weeks to visit my sister and go to some conference :D I hope Flat DL will make it too – it’d be nice to get a recent photo with all of us!

I’m also reading a good book – I just finished Monks-hood by Ellis Peter which was good, and now I’m reading House Rules by Jodi Picoult, about a boy with Aspergers, who is obsessed with forensics. Only a fifth of the way in but I’m hooked all ready (actually if I’m being completely honest I was hooked by the 5th page or so. Have to finish it before the end of the week cos it belongs to my workmate who’s finishing up at the end of the week.

Also been busy booking accommodation for next term…it’s taking me forever, and some of the places we’re staying I don’t have great expectations for, but we’ll see. Hopefully I’ve managed to book us a few nice places :p

Seen quite a few good movies too now that I think about it! Bee Movie was FANTASTIC – you would love it, it’s full of ridiculously awful jokes, a bit of a science lesson, and made me laugh a lot. Plus there was a sweet (like honey :p) love story in there, AND a nice moral :D

Despicable Me, another cartoon about an evil villain turned good, kind of along the same lines as Dr Horrible’s Sing Along Blog but longer.

Camino and We Are Together both deserve honourable mentions too :D Mum and I spent the evening together on Sunday and watched these, and they both made us cry.

Oh yeah, Tomorrow, When the War Began which I know you’ve seen already but was good!

Oh hey and guess what – I found another Nick Bantock book at a second hand bookshop…I’ll read it and lend it to you, it’s not in the Griffin and Sabine series, but it looks just as promising with envelopes :D More text too!

All righty, now that I’ve given you my excuses for not writing, I’m going to go and do one more thing for work and then sleep. Cos sleep is definitely important too :p

Remember to smile, Skyring,

Discoverylover
